Warm Lemon Water and Honey.
An excerpt from the Anti-Aging Secrets of Hollywood …
Susan Lucci is a Daytime Emmy-winning actress and star of All My Children as Erica Cane. It’s hard to believe she is 69.
Susan told Huffington Post that, “I drink two cups of coffee in the morning, and then it’s hot water and lemon for the rest of the day. It hydrates, it’s comforting … and it keeps me away from too much caffeine. Also, I have read recently in a number of different places that hot water and lemon balances your Ph, so it helps you maintain a healthy immune system, and it boosts metabolism.”
Susan is actually on to something because warm lemon water does the following:
- Supports eye health
- Prevents the formation of wrinkles
- Provides Vitamin C and helps the immune system
- Dissolves uric acid so it helps reduce joint pain and inflammation in the knees
- Nourishes the brain and nerve cells because of the potassium content
- Improves digestion
- Helps you lose weight
- Helps fight the common cold
You can also add a little honey for sweetness. Honey is also:
- Antibacterial
- Antiviral
- High in antioxidants
- Has wound healing properties
- Good for a sore throat and cough
