I frequently get asked what my top anti-aging advice would be and I have to say that there isn’t just one.
So today I would like to share with you my current favorite anti-aging things. I say current because tomorrow I may stumble onto something new and it will add to what I am telling you today.
But I love learning new things and adding to my anti-aging regimen anything that is going to make me feel and look younger for as long as I live.
Today my top favorite tips are: Fish Oil, Coffee Grinds, Collagen Supplements, Red Palm Oil and Activated Charcoal.
Fish Oil:
I have written about fish oil in the past and it continues to be my favorite topic because it truly is anti-aging medicine. You see, fish oil improves our bone health, hair, skin, heart, brain and lungs.
It protects us against, heart disease, stroke, Alzheimer’s and osteoporosis. I’ve written about it in the past. If you missed that article you can read about it here.
If you are serious about anti-aging, fish oil should be the first of all supplements that you take.
Coffee Grinds:
Yep, coffee grinds, one of my favorite exfoliating tips. It’s a little messy but well worth it.
You see, the caffeine in coffee grinds has anti-inflammatory and antioxidant benefits when applied topically. Plus when you exfoliate you stimulate collagen.
I keep a plastic container filled with coffee grinds in my shower. I first apply the grinds to my face gently, in a circular motion. I then leave the grinds on my face while I exfoliate the rest of my body. This way the caffeine is going to work on my under-eye circles. Make sure to rinse well.
As I mentioned earlier, it’s a little messy. But a plastic cup to rinse away the mess is all you need. You will feel the difference and your body will be ready for your moisturizer, which will be better absorbed.
Collagen:
Collagen is a protein found in connective tissue such as skin, cartilage, muscles, tendons and ligaments. Collagen is also found in the stomach, cornea and blood vessels.
Collagen is so important to your skin, tendons and bones. Boosting your collagen whether by supplements or food will have you feeling and looking your best. Remove the aches and pains of aging too.
I’ve written about it in the past. If you missed the article you can catch up here.
Red Palm Oil:
I wrote to you a few weeks ago about red palm oil. I have to say it has quickly become a staple in my beauty routine as I am seeing a difference in the texture of my skin. The benefits are amazing. If you missed the article you can read more about it here.
I’ve also been asked where I purchase mine and I just picked it up at The Vitamin Shoppe. But it’s also available online, at WholeFoods, Fresh Market and Trader Joe’s.
I’m also looking forward to cooking with it because of the health benefits – if you’ve never heard of it don’t feel bad, it was a new one to me too.
Activated Charcoal:
My new favorite teeth whitener. It’s a little scary looking because, as you can imagine, it looks like tar.
You would also think it would stain your teeth but it actually does the opposite.
You can purchase the powdered variety or capsules (which you would break open).
Dampen your toothbrush and pour on the charcoal. Make sure to do it over the sink because it is messy. Brush your teeth for 3-5 minutes and rinse well.
The charcoal absorbs the stains. What’s great about this technique is that it doesn’t cause sensitivity. But, because it’s abrasive, only use for up to five days in a row.
Just whitening your teeth can have a huge anti-aging effect on your smile and face.
Coming your way soon …
I’m currently working on several projects that I’m excited to bring to you.
In the next few months I will be changing the look of my emails and website.
I’m also writing an anti-aging hair e-book as well as an e-book about anti-aging supplements.
If you have any insights for me I’d love to hear from you.
To a healthy more beautiful you!
