Happy Monday once again!
Here are your anti-aging hacks:
- A recent headline – Harvard study: Moderate coffee drinking associated with longevity – peaked my interest. Three large studies were conducted over 30 years. The results showed that people who drank 3-5 cups of coffee per day had a lower risk of death from diabetes, cardiovascular disease and neurological disorders. And it didn’t matter if the coffee had caffeine or not. Investigators believe that a compound in coffee, chlorogenic acid, may help reduce inflammation and insulin resistance. Chlorogenic acid is also found in green tea. If you don’t like coffee or tea, chlorogenic acid can be taken as a supplement.
- Lack of sleep can really speed up aging. If you have trouble sleeping but don’t want to take sleeping pills try drinking some cherry juice before bedtime. Cherry juice is naturally high in melatonin.
- I’ve been telling you a lot about alpha lipoic acid and I just found yet another reason to add it to your arsenal of supplements – it can prevent age-related hearing loss. Researchers found that alpha lipoic acid protected against loss of low-hearing frequencies. And, in the same study, acetyl-L-carnitine protected high-frequency hearing loss.
Have a wonderful week!
To a healthy more beautiful you!

Once again here are your anti-aging hacks:
-
I have written in the past about whisking an egg together for a quick anti-aging mask and a friend of mine told me the other day that she just loved it. I told her she can go a step further and separate the yolk from the white. The yolk is moisturizing and the egg white is tightening. Do a little of each for your own needs.
-
In fact, adding one egg a day to your diet may increase good HDL cholesterol levels without raising bad LDL levels. And, according to a Harvard study, moderate consumption of eggs does not contribute to heart disease.
-
Want a special conditioning mask that may actually help with hair growth? Whisk an egg or two together and massage into your scalp and the rest of your hair. Put on a plastic shower cap or some plastic wrap and let it sit for 20 minutes. Shampoo out and wait for the compliments … your hair will shine.
For a healthy more beautiful you!

Happy Monday!
Here are your hacks:
-
Cut back or remove white sugar from your diet if you want slow down the aging process. You see, sugar binds to collagen causing your collagen to break down. When collagen breaks down your joints ache and your skin wrinkles.
-
When having your meals, eat your protein before carbohydrates. Eating this way reduces the increase in blood-sugar levels. When your blood sugar spikes (even if you are not diabetic) it causes inflammation in the body and blood cells. Inflammation speeds up aging and is behind major illnesses and chronic diseases.
-
Drink your coffee and teas faster to save staining your pearly whites. When you sip slowly (over an hour or more) you keep coating your teeth. Same goes for dark juices.
For a more healthy beautiful you!

Happy Monday!
Here are your hacks – Have a great week!
-
Did you overdo it during the holidays and your stomach is still unhappy? Here’s a quick easy detox tea: pour a cup of boiling water over 2 teaspoons of grated ginger and steep for 3-4 minutes, strain. Add the juice of half a lemon. Drink warm or cold and as needed.
-
One of the most powerful anti-aging supplements is Alpha-Lipoic Acid or ALA for short. It has anti-inflammatory properties, it’s an antioxidant and helps convert glucose to energy which lowers blood sugar. 250mgs is all you need. I could go on and on about ALA but you’ll have to trust me on this one.
-
Need another reason to make sure you get your vitamin D3? It improves your mood by boosting your serotonin (feel-good hormone) levels. And studies show that depression can age your body faster.

Happy Monday!
It’s almost a new year and I’m ready to start it off right. I’m going to do that by supplementing my vitamin regimen with lots of B vitamins.
You see, B vitamins are so important for anti-aging. They help your blood sugar, your heart, your brain, your skin and every cell in your body.
But these are your Monday anti-aging hacks so I’m going to keep it short and sweet.
Today I’m only going to discuss Vitamin B3 also known as niacin. I’ll contribute a future newsletter article to the Bs. In the meantime, enjoy!
-
Niacin has the ability to maintain healthy skin. It does so by retaining moisture. Scaly skin can also be a sign of niacin deficiency.
-
According to the Mayo Clinic niacin also helps increase your good cholesterol and lower your triglycerides (fat in your blood cells) by 30%. By doing so, it will lower your risk of hardening of the arteries, stroke and heart disease.
-
Niacin also helps break down carbohydrates, proteins and fats to use as energy, which in turn gives you energy.
-
In a recent study in The Journal of Sexual Medicine, niacin was found to improve the ability to maintain an erection in men with moderate to severe erectile dysfunction. And for women, niacin taken 15-20 minutes before sex can increase mucus production in the vaginal area.
-
Niacin can also help you sleep better when taken before bedtime.
-
Niacin has also been known to help arthritis.
-
In the Journal of Orthomolecular Medicine researchers report that taking niacin at the onset of a migraine can “abort” the episode. Also, taking niacin on a regular basis can be preventative medicine for migraine sufferers.
-
Niacin can improve the circulation in the feet and legs of diabetics.
However, dosing varies per individual. You will need to experiment because everyone is different and so are their diets. You may need as little at 50mgs or as much as 1000mgs. But, regardless of the amount, the niacin needs to be of the flush variety.
Here are some foods rich in niacin: chicken, turkey, beef, pork, lamb, mushrooms, peas, peanuts, sunflower seeds, tuna, broccoli, salmon, almonds, cod, liver and asparagus.

Happy Monday and Happy Holidays too!!!
Because it’s the holiday season you will most likely find yourself around a lot of goodies and food you may not normally be near. And that’s why today I want to share some hacks about nuts.
Nuts are usually plentiful around the holidays and maybe you’ll think twice before you skip them to grab a less healthy food.
Here ya go … hope you enjoy!
1. A Nurses Health study determined that substituting nuts for an equal amount of carbohydrates in the average diet may reduce your risk of heart disease by 30%.
2. An ounce of almonds daily can improve your memory, increase your fiber, antioxidant and protein intake. Almonds also have heart-healthy fat.
3. The Journal of Nutrition reports that eating almonds with or after a high-glycemic meal lowers blood sugar levels. Blood samples were taken for glucose analysis immediately after eating, and at 15, 30, 45, 60, 90 and 120 minutes. They found the more almonds eaten the lower the blood-sugar levels. So, whether you are a diabetic or watching your weight, you might want to start popping some almonds.
4. The anti-aging nut is the walnut. With its high content of anti-oxidants this heart-healthy nut can also reduce inflammation.
So grab some nuts over the holidays. And don’t worry about the fat content because their fat is the healthy kind.

Happy Monday!
Here are your anti-aging hacks for the week. Hope you enjoy!
1. Want to improve your mood instantly? Smile! Yep. Scientists have discovered that the act of smiling can relieve stress and lower your blood pressure.
2. Brittle nails from age, weather, doing dishes? Rub a little olive oil on your nails before bedtime and you’ll have healthy nails in no time.
3. Need an energy boost? Sniff a lemon or citrus-scented lotion. Any citrus scent stimulates alertness. So next time you are choosing a hand lotion make sure it does double duty and get one that smells like an orange.

1. 2 parts water and 1 part organic apple-cider vinegar makes a great facial toner. It will also balance out your skin, tighten pores and can help with adult acne.
2. A few weeks ago I mentioned how breathing rosemary can improve memory and mental focus. It can also protect against neurodegenerative conditions like Alzheimer’s disease. But what I just learned from a study published in the Scientia Pharmaceutica journal is that breathing rosemary can also relieve stress and anxiety. Now that’s a lot from one little herb!
3. Lower your blood pressure – pet a dog. Studies show that when you’re stressed petting a dog keeps your blood pressure under control.
Last week Lynette from Virginia sent me this great DIY face mask and I wanted to share with you …
Lynette: My daughter came home from school and I promised face mask spa night. But, I forgot to buy the masks! So I quickly looked up DIY face masks. Well I used one for pumpkin since I had pumpkin puree in the house. It also called for Honey and a table spoon of plain yogurt. Can I tell you I do it weekly! My skin has never been so soft! It’s perfect for winter dry skin!
Me: That’s awesome. May I share this with my readers?
Lynette: Sure! It was 3 tablespoons Pumpkin puree (from a can) and 1 tablespoon milk 1 tablespoon honey. I have also used plain Greek yogurt instead of milk mix well refrigerate like 10 min put all over your face forehead and neck leave 10 – 15 min rinse pat dry. NO you won’t turn orange lol.
Keep your ideas coming, I love them!

I can’t believe I’m already on Week 3 of anti-aging hacks.
I’ve had so many ‘thank yous’ and compliments. Everyone that has contacted me is loving these quick little tips that have big benefits.
But I also want you to know that if you have a hack I’d love to hear from you. Please send them in – and I’ll share them with everyone.
In the meantime, here are this week’s hacks:
1. According to a study in the Europe Pubmed Central you can relieve the pain, swelling and itching of eczema with 3-4 drops of evening primrose oil applied directly to the affected areas. Repeat as needed.
2. Long-term dehydration can cause premature aging. Keep hydrated with not only lots of water but fish oil and topical moisturizers. All three will keep you hydrated inside and out.
3. Did you know that your cotton pillowcase is drying out your hair and skin? It will also cause sheet marks on your skin and is rough on your hair. A silk or satin pillowcase will not dry your hair or skin out and can prevent sleep wrinkles plus keep your hair from breaking. I picked up a cheap one from Wal-Mart for $4.00.
4. Don’t know how to treat those stubborn upper lip lines? Try softening them with a little of your eye cream.
To a more healthy beautiful you!

I received so many emails after last weeks, “anti-aging hacks”. I was so happy to see that so many of you appreciated and enjoyed them. So much so that I couldn’t wait to bring you this week’s hacks.
So without further ado here are your hacks for this week:
1. An additional supplementation of 2000mgs of Vitamin C per day will help boost your collagen. Collagen will keep those wrinkles and sore joints at bay.
2. Use perfume – studies show that using perfume, especially if it has a citrus scent, can make people think you are seven years younger than you really are.
3. Breathing rosemary can improve memory and mental focus. It can also protect against neurodegenerative conditions like Alzheimer’s disease. And in a 2012 study published in Therapeutic Advances in Psychopharmacology, researchers found that exposure to rosemary aroma can improve cognitive performance and mood. Put rosemary oil into a handkerchief and inhale or a room diffuser and breathe in the benefits.
Have a great week and I hope you can put the ‘hacks’ to good use, I know I sure do!

While researching ingredients for a product recently, I realized that I am always finding great anti-aging tips that make you feel and look younger.
There are so many that I wanted to start sharing them with you. So, in addition to my weekly newsletter, I’m going to start sending you quick anti-aging tips which I will call “hacks”. You will be able to use these right away.
Today I want to start with the following “Anti-Aging Hacks” …
1. Treat your varicose veins with some witch hazel. Compresses soaked with witch hazel and then applied to varicose veins can offer relief and help reduce their appearance.
2. Try to stay away from straws or bottles. The constant sucking motion contributes to the vertical lines above and below your lips.
3. 1-2 tablespoons of unfiltered, organic apple cider vinegar taken before bedtime can help reduce blood sugar levels. This is great for those with Type 2 diabetes.
4. To get the most out of your expensive anti-aging products, whether for the face or the body, exfoliate first. This will prepare your skin and help your products to be better absorbed. Baking soda or coffee grinds make great exfoliators.
5. Take years off your face by whitening your teeth. Sprinkle some baking soda on your toothbrush for a few days and you’ll quickly see a difference.
That’s it for today. Quick and simple but worth the effort. I hope you’ve enjoyed this new segment.
I also love hearing from you. So, if you have a comment or an anti-aging hack please email me.
To a younger more healthy you!
