I want to devote today’s hacks to anti-aging foods. There are many foods that anti-age you. They have actually been dubbed superfoods. But there are so many superfoods that I’ve had to pare them down.
Here are my best picks:
1.Full of antioxidants, avocados are a true superfood. They can relieve symptoms of arthritis, prevent cancer, lower cholesterol and contain more potassium than bananas. Recent studies also show that, “Avocado fruit extract has profound influence on leptin activity, which controls satiety and hunger to regulate the food intake.” You can eat the fruit itself, the seed (smash with a knife and chop up) or use avocado oil to get all the wonderful benefits.
2. Lots of health benefits are packed into one stalk of celery. It is a very powerful food. It can reduce bad cholesterol, lower blood pressure, boost sexual arousal, aid in digestion, detox the liver and reduce inflammation.
3. Want vitamins and the perfect protein? Eat an egg or two a few times a week. Once considered bad for your heart, science has come to realize that eggs actually improve your good cholesterol. Eggs also protect your brain because they contain choline and other B vitamins.
4. You can’t beat a beet for improving your blood vessels and lowering your blood pressure. Beets are rich in iron which helps deliver oxygen to your blood cells. They also ward off cancer and have anti-inflammatory properties.
5. The latest in superfoods is bone broth. It really deserves a whole article and I will write more at a later time. But, for your hacks, here’s the list of bone broth’s anti-aging benefits: better sleep, stronger bones, heals your gut, builds your immune system, protects your joints, repairs your skin and promotes healthy hair and nails.
So choose foods based on how they heal, protect and nourish your own specific ailments. It’s super easy to add superfoods to your diet.
For a younger more beautiful you!
